When they landed in Adelaide, Colette started the business with one machinist, some patterns, and rolls of fabric spread across the floor. She was the designer and Olivier was the cutter. For five years, they crossed the country, visiting every hamlet with a drapery or fashion store until agents promised to advertise their line in every Australian capital city and regional area. Caleche prospered, and as their four children became older, they each joined the family company. These hand-crafted gowns from Norwood’s Caleche workrooms were subsequently sold in select Australian stores, as well as boutiques in France and Italy. Herve and Eric, along with Herve’s wife Elizabeth, are now continuing on the family business.

We appreciate the better things in life. We’re looking for dresses that are both attractively designed and properly manufactured. But who says you can’t wear a previously loved and used garment, even if it’s a designer sample? After all, isn’t the point of your wedding day to make memories with the people you love?

Why should you consider a used wedding gown?

A previously worn wedding gown was previously worn by another bride. Many people may find this choice unpleasant, but there are several reasons why it should be considered. Of course, there are some disadvantages to purchasing a used dress, such as needing to modify the size and being concerned about how clean it will be, but there are much more benefits than negatives.
